The oxygen plant at the 37 Military Hospital is now fully operational, ensuring a reliable medical oxygen supply. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, highlighted this as part of President Mahama's commitment to improving healthcare in Ghana.
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence, has stated that the oxygen plant at the 37 Military Hospital is now fully operational, resulting in considerable improvements to the facility's healthcare services.
He noted that this breakthrough demonstrates President John Dramani Mahama's persistent commitment to improving human security as part of his larger aim to modernize Ghana's healthcare infrastructure.
During a recent working visit to the hospital, Dr. Boamah discovered that the oxygen plant had gone out of commission, creating a significant risk to the supply of medical oxygen to surgery theatres, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), other hospital wards, and the National Ambulance Service.
As a medical practitioner, the Defence Minister acted quickly to fix the situation. In response to the seriousness of the situation, President Mahama asked the Ministry of Defence to work with the National Security Coordinator to avoid delays in oxygen delivery.
New equipment was purchased and installed to ensure a consistent and adequate supply of oxygen for both the hospital and ambulance services.
"I am pleased to say that we have rectified the issue as a result of our aggressive steps. There will be no negative news.
" Dr. Boamah wrote in a Facebook post. "We remain committed to tackling challenges head-on, including those caused by economic mismanagement."
