Nana Kwasi Boatey, Ghana Publishing Company's Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has set ambitious goals for the organization to change and become a major publisher in the sub-region within the next four years.
Boatey emphasized the necessity for structural changes in an interview with Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Friday, stating that a new organogram has been designed and that the corporation is fully revamping.
"I want to see the structures shift. In fact, when we were there, we completed a new organogram. We are fully rebuilding the organization, but I want the physical structures to change," Boatey added.
He described his ambition for the company to be as competitive as any other publisher in the subregion. This involves finding worldwide employment and growing into security printing.
"I want the place to be competitive with any other publisher in the sub-region by the time I leave. I hope to be able to find work on a global scale. We're interested in security printing. I'd like to have the ability to print passports from Ghana Publishing. "I want us to be able to print checks from Ghana publishing," he explained.
Boatey also voiced a preference for the Ghana Publishing Company to handle all printing requirements for the Ghana Education Service (GES) and other government institutions rather than outsourcing to commercial publishers.
"I want GES to bring all of their work to us, not a private publisher. I want all government entities to be confident in bringing their jobs to us, and I want everyone who considers printing and publishing to think of us first," he said.
