The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has denied allegations on social media that its Director/Chief Executive has died, saying the assertions are false.
The NFC confirmed in a statement signed by the regulatory agency's Director of Public Affairs, Brian Etuk, that Ali Nuhu is still alive and actively carrying out his duties as CEO.
"NFC wishes to draw the attention of perpetrators of these uncouth and dastardly acts, including their sponsors, to the dire and unmistakable consequences of their actions, no matter the innocuousness of their intent," according to the statement.
The Corporation further stated that adequate actions have been implemented to address this "ugly, baleful, and unsatisfactory conduct and trend." It characterized the bogus news as malicious, harmful, and false in its entirety.
However, NFC expressed gratitude for the real concerns aired by the general public, as well as business and governmental sector stakeholders.
Rumors of Dr. Ali Nuhu's alleged death spread quickly on social media Monday evening, with footage of him spreading extensively. On February 12, 2024, President Tinubu chose Dr. Ali Nuhu as the NFC's Chief Executive.
